Glen Arbor MI Homes for Sale
Glen Arbor, between the shores of Lake Michigan and Glen Lake, is home to some of the cleanest lakes in the country and many of the Glen Arbor MI homes for sale in the area are exquisite cabins and cottages. A tourist town that bustles in the summer months with Lake shore home owners and summer cottages for sale, it settles in for a quiet slumber in the winter. By all accounts, the locals wouldn’t have it any other way. Besides the beautiful waters of the local lakes, the big attraction to the area is the Sleeping Bear Dunes, a National Park that stretches some 65 miles along the Lake Michigan coastline. With all of the beauty in the surrounding area, finding perfect Glen Arbor Mi homes for sale is a cinch with me, Lesley Werth. The way I’d describe the Dunes is to have you imagine a 400ft high pile of sand that works its way down to an expanse of deep blue water. Add in a large amount of sea grass, some scrubby underbrush and an assortment of wildlife and you start to get the picture. It’s impossible to go out there and not feel like a kid again.
If you’d like help finding property in the area, or you’d like to come see one of the homes, please contact Werth & Phelps of Real Estate One right away for personalized and professional service from an established and experienced local Michigan Realtor.
Pooling their resources early in the last century, Cedar, Empire, Glen Arbor and Maple City came together to form the Glen Lake Community School District. Glen Lake High School, Glen Lake Middle School and Glen Lake Elementary School were the result and in doing so, they ensured a quality education for all the local children. Glen Arbor also has the distinction of being home to the Leelanau School. It is a boarding school for kids in 9th – 12th grades and focuses on children who learn a bit differently. Perhaps because of dyslexia, ADD, ADHD or similar learning challenges.
The summertime sees this area triple in population for a few months each summer. Although daytime temperatures can soar into the 80’s in the dead of summer the evenings cool off nicely ensuring you are rested and ready for tomorrow’s adventures. The winter months locals whom remain thrive on cold weather sports and pastimes including downhill and cross country skiing, fishing and hunting. There are also great snowmobile trails in the area.
